I am a lineage painter transplanted to Texas from the east coast in 2000.
Having lived on Smith Island in the Chesapeake bay for years and in downtown Baltimore for a few more years, my painting interests span a spectrum of experiences.reaching to and from my roots in Hanover Pennsylvania....my friends just call me Pop'

Taking the Advanced class FCC exam for a Ham radio license-W3DMI. Life guarding during the summer at my girlfriends father's public pool- 'Bangs Pool' Pushing a large dolly of hot cans just removed from a large pressure cooker- Hanover Caning Co. Throwing boxes of canned goods into a railroad box car. Putting buckets of peaches into a cement mixer and adding sugar and citric acid. Swimming in the country club swimming pool-Hanover cc. Throwing javelin in the Penn Relays. Being a caddy for my dad and his friends. Graduating from high school-Eichelberger Sr High. Picking cherries for 23cents a bucket full, Buying gas for 23 cents a gallon. Wearing a USAF military uniform. Working on radar site, semi isolated in Minnesota and Canada. Married with three children. Fishing on Minnesota Lakes- Wadena Minn. Marching on AF drill team throughout the US including for the Queen of England- Winnipeg Canada Doing TV repair- Ocean City NJ. Working in a drug store as a 'Soda Jerk'. Installing awnings. Chasing bears out of garbage dumps. Life guarding on Ocean city beach. Out of the Air force. Selling insurance for State Farm. Selling cars for Ford dealership- Beasley Ford. Delivering bread in rural Penna. Selling appliances for a family friend's business. Installing TV antennas and towers- Rodgers' Service Co. Supervising in the finishing dept of a furniture maker- Liester Furniture Co. Working as an instrumentation tech in a paper mill- Glatfelter's Paper Mill. Attending school for industrial nucleonics. Taking the FCC exam for a 1st class professional license- P1-46248 Working as electronics tech on two way communications equipment fire police taxi etc-Wright's Radio Inc. Teaching electronics- 'RETS' As an electronics service manager- Motorola Balto. Divorced. living in Baltimore. Managing a dental lab designing and making partial dentures- Cooper Dental Lab. Sitting in college learning criminal law- Copin State. Taking a sabbatical and in deep meditation. Doing lots of pen and ink drawing, Taking long 100 mile plus walks. Carrying my yongest son on my shoulders through the city. Being called 'stick' by the kids. Carving walking sticks and painting portraits. Looking at a divine light. Spending time on a mosquito infested deserted island with oatmeal, figs, water, and writing material- 'Hog's Neck'. Painting photographic backdrops and living in the Baltimore Ghettos. Moving to Smith Island. Working on crab boats. Working on 65' Chesapeake bay oyster dredge boat- 'The Estelle Leonard'. Working on boat repairs at the 'railway' dry docks. Painting and writing more. Completing a state contract with a friend to build decking around large waste treatment plants-Ewell&Tylerton. Lettering boats- Self. Doing plumbing and remodeling-Self. Marine radio & TV Vcr Service - Self. Returning to Baltimore. Helping a friend start and run a new seafood business- Mt Washington Seafood. Splitting wood on an upscale horse farm. Returning to Pennsylvania to help my oldest son get his landscape business established- 'Chip's Landscaping'. Returning to Baltimore helping another friend to start and run his HVAC business- Whitelock Heat and Air. Repairing pagers- Edmonson Hdw. Going to Florida and painting while helping my parents prepare for their move back north. Still painting and writing and contemplating. Doing 'found object' art in Baltimore. Riding with my oldest son in a van equipped for his handicap on a road trip through the south and west, painting. He's a painter too. Staying in Texas to be near my youngest son and a new grand daughter. Repairing vintage radios- Self . Painting murals in Texas 'McMansions'-Self. Writing and contemplating. Holding my Grand children.and more painting.
