About:

My passion is being an artist. I began drawing and painting at the early age of 3. I paint daily at least 15 minutes or more per day with a day missed here or there to maintain my discipline. I love to feel free when I paint . I don't copy much except the face of the person I paint. I create from my mind. The paintings do not exist in the photography world. I re-create the photo. I have a great interest in musicians and Icons, using vivid colors, abstract, texture ( 3-D Hair scuplted) , metallics and realism together to create versatility in my paintings. I am known as a green artist, the hair is made from recycled paint. I have recycled my paint since 1993. As a painter I choose to paint Icons which I affectionately call ' Entermusblues, Blue people'. ( Entertainers and musical blues)

Born in Oakland, CA. in a family neighborhood where people enjoyed music from Blues, Jazz to R&B , I grew up listening to music and politics. I knew as a young girl I wanted to be an artist. I would sketch someone or something all the time as a little girl. My parents encouraged me as a young girl to go to art college. I attended California College of Arts and Crafts 1976-1980, was nominated for The National Register of Outstanding College Graduates earning a B.F.A. degree 1980. (Bachelor of fine art) (CCAC). I am also a certified Graphic Designer, graduating 2006.

Throughout the years, I Have exhibited my art work in various art galleries in California and Las Vegas. An Educator for two school districts and Parks & Recreations for several years. In 2004 I decided to make a career change and follow my passion, ART.
Currently teaching art to children ages 7-18. I was borded with the paintings I was producing it had no style, I was jumping around painting different subjects ,so I prayed for a vision and a style to be identified for...
In 2006 I had a dream and vision to paint people blue from the internal side of the spirit.' Blue is the color of our blood before oxygen , Red is the color of our blood after oxygen and Yellow is our aura and energy '. This is the internal side of life. 'Blue is the color of the sky and sea, It is associated with depth and stability. Blue is considered beneficial to the mind and body and produces a calming affect. This is fantasy art called ' POP ART '

Enjoy life in the Blue !!! All images are copyright @ nannetteyart.com.
